Yesterday Heavers Farm held a general election. Classes from year reception to year six were given the opportunity to vote. Staff were also able to vote in our polling station. A huge thank you to Mr Perrin and Ms Rosetree for helping me to set it up bright and early yesterday morning! I would also like to thank Shandika, Monique, May, Ava and Nyalay for helping me to count the votes. Much fun was had by all! Mr Cambridge.
This half term we have been reading Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. This is the first year that Year 3 children have read this book in our school.Task 1
Your task is to write a book review for the children in year 4 – who missed out on reading it last year. In your review you should (i) give them the key information about the book title and author name, (ii) explain who the main characters are, (iii) say who might like to read it, (iv) give your opinion on it, and (v) NOT give the ending away!
The spellings to learn this week are: increase, important, interest, island, knowledge, learn, length, library, material and medicine.
Can you chose five of these words and put them into interesting sentences?
In Literacy this week, we have been investigating the life cycle of a frog. For homework this week we would like you to find out about the life cycle of another, different animal. It could be any type of animal, from any type of habitat in the world so thinks carefully about making your choice interesting.
On Tuesday our Moonstonians recorded data along Tennison Road! The children wanted to find out how many cars drove along the road, the different colours of cars and different makes of cars! We recorded data for five minutes 🙂
Well what a fantastic year we have had Moonstone. You have ALL been a pleasure to teach and you have made my first year as a teacher so enjoyable! Have a nice rest and don’t forget to let me know what you have been doing over the summer.
